TL;DR

Google and Samsung control how their accounts are added to a watch. Lynio is a third-party app, so it can't do this for you, and you don't need either account to connect Lynio.

Why can't Lynio add these accounts?

Many people ask us for this. On a Galaxy Watch, account setup is built around software from Samsung and Google, including Samsung's Galaxy Wearable app, which isn't available on iPhone for these watches.

Lynio connects your watch and iPhone directly. It can only use the features that your iPhone and watch allow other apps to use, and adding these accounts isn't one of them.

Would signing in to Lynio with Google help?

Not for your watch. It would only sign you in to Lynio. It wouldn't add your Google account to the watch or unlock services such as the Play Store.

No need to buy an Apple Watch

Use Lynio to connect your Wear OS watch (Android Watch) to your iPhone.

Do I need an account to use Lynio?

No. Lynio doesn't use a Google or Samsung account to connect your watch and iPhone.

What can I try instead?

Some watches let you add these accounts in their own settings:

  • →Google account: on your watch, open Settings > Account and backup > Google account.
  • →Samsung account: on your watch, open Settings > Account and backup > Samsung account. You need an existing account, because you can't create one on the watch.

This may not work on every watch, especially one set up without a phone.

No need to buy an Apple Watch

Use Lynio to connect your Wear OS watch (Android Watch) to your iPhone.

No account needed. Download Lynio and connect your watch to your iPhone.
