Why bypass phone pairing?
A Samsung Galaxy Watch normally asks you to pair it with a phone during setup. You may want to skip this if you prefer to use it as a stand-alone watch.
These steps work on Samsung watches running Wear OS 3 and above.
How to bypass phone pairing
- 1Turn on your watch and wait for the welcome or language screen.
- 2Tap the blue Wear icon 5 times.
- 3Wait for a message telling you to press and hold for 3 seconds.
- 4The watch goes back to the first screen.
- 5Press and hold the same icon (Wear or watch icon) for about 3 seconds. A good way to do this is to count from 1 to 3.
- 6Your watch face opens.
