Merge splits features across separate watch apps, which some people prefer, responds to support enquiries on the App Store, and its 14-day trial is the longest here.

Gaps: manual reconnection after CarPlay, workouts logged as the wrong activity, health stats that don't always post, an English-only interface, and the highest price in the category at $35.99 or $59.99 a year.

The lowest monthly commitment in the category. There's no trial; instead a freemium model where premium comes from paying or from earning ad coins, and a redemption might buy only one day of access at a time, which makes it a daily chore rather than standing access. Its file browser, shipped as a separate companion app, is the only way to browse your watch's files among these three. 29 languages, and an interface that's good with room for improvement.

What All Three Share

An Android phone is sometimes needed, and that's Wear OS, not the app. Samsung Galaxy Watch never needs one, new or already set up. Other Wear OS watches need brief Android access only if the watch is brand new and has never been activated.
