About the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2
Announced at Unpacked in July 2026 and on sale from 7 August at $699.99. Two things make it a real generational change rather than a refresh.
First, Samsung left Exynos. The Ultra 2 runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon SW6100 Wear Elite, a 3nm penta-core part, the first Qualcomm silicon in a flagship Galaxy Watch. Second, the battery jumped to 800mAh, up 35% on the original Ultra, while the case got 12% thinner at 10.7mm. The screen peaks at 5,000 nits, which is brighter than most phones.
It is also the first Galaxy Watch certified as a dive watch. Alongside 10ATM and MIL-STD-810H it carries EN13319 to 40 metres and IP69K, and Samsung has a diving app built with Mares coming later in 2026. Samsung raised its commitment with this model to five operating system upgrades and five years of security updates.

From the Play Store on the watch. If Google sign-in will not work there, Lynio sends the app across as a signed bundle over Wi-Fi instead.

Samsung's ECG reading is the one to check for yourself. Samsung ties it to the Samsung Health Monitor app on a Galaxy phone, so the sensor is on the watch but that specific reading depends on Samsung's own software.
