About the Galaxy Watch 6
Released August 2023 from $299, and the year Samsung shrank the bezels. The 44mm fits a 1.5in display where the Watch 5 managed 1.4in in the same footprint, and both sizes brightened to 2,000 nits. It was the first watch to use the Exynos W930.
Three years on it is the sweet spot secondhand. It still has the full BioActive stack, ECG, body composition and infrared skin temperature, and it reached Wear OS 6 with One UI 8 Watch in December 2025. It has not received One UI 8.5 Watch. Samsung still lists it for quarterly security updates as of September 2026, with Wear OS upgrade eligibility running to the end of 2027.

From the Play Store on the watch. If Google sign-in will not work there, Lynio sends the app across as a signed bundle over Wi-Fi instead.

Keep both on the same Wi-Fi, Bluetooth on, and leave the app open until pairing finishes.

16GB of storage is the constraint here rather than anything to do with the iPhone. It is enough for apps and watch faces, tight for an offline music library.
