About the Fossil Gen 6
Released September 2021 from $299, and the last generation of Wear OS watch Fossil made. It is a stainless steel watch in 42mm and 44mm, running a Snapdragon Wear 4100+ with a 1.28in 416 x 416 AMOLED. Its standout was charging speed: 0 to 80% in about 30 minutes, which was unmatched at the time.
Fossil announced its exit from the smartwatch business on 27 January 2024, saying it would keep existing Wear OS watches updated "for the next few years". It did ship at least one update afterwards, in November 2024, which brought Wear OS 3.5 with an April 2024 security patch. No source shows a Fossil update since. It never received Wear OS 4.
About Fossil's own app. Unlike most watches in this directory, Fossil did publish an iPhone app. What it gives you is limited: notifications arrive but you cannot act on them, and Google Assistant is unavailable. That gap is the reason to use Lynio instead.
